The Thomaston-Upson Civic Center was built in 1975 in honor of Charlie and Martha Thompson. The facilities are a result of a joint effort by the City of Thomaston and Upson County to provide for the cultural and recreational interests of the citizens.
It is the home for many events and activities in Upson County! The expansive property includes several rental spaces, a regulation size basketball gymnasium, pickleball and racquetball courts, a game room, computer lab, and more. Our outdoor facilities include five community parks, playgrounds, a pool, a volleyball court, football fields, and several complexes to house sports tournaments for softball, baseball, tee-ball, and soccer. We are the heart of the community and serve as the Emergency Shelter Center and voting site for various elections. We take pride in our community! Thomaston-Upson provides the "southern hospitality" everyone has been longing for! Welcome to TU!
